If you’ve heard anything about The Kitchen Lady, it’s likely you’re here because you share the very simple philosophy that underscores what we do – that your kitchen is not merely a place to make food, it’s a place to make memories.

It’s a place to exercise your creativity, a place for sharing treasured family traditions, for deep and meaningful conversations over a perfect cuppa and for a good laugh over a glass of wine – or two. In our view, it’s the most important room in the house. So let’s make it great!

Who

The Kitchen Lady is a family-owned and operated kitchen design, manufacture, and install business. We don’t answer to shareholders, corporate investors, or ‘management’, we answer to each other and to you.

We are fanatical about open and honest communication, exacting when it comes to quality and ridiculously passionate about bespoke kitchen design. We consider ourselves privileged to create a space that not only reflects the needs of your family and lifestyle but is functional and brings value to your home.

Joanne Mouat
Joanne has always had a passion for beautiful spaces which has seen her build and renovate numerous homes over 30 years. That passion evolved into a deep dive into the kitchen design industry and the subsequent development of her own design and manufacturing business. The ability to take full control of the manufacturing process means The Kitchen Lady delivers beautiful kitchens with precision and perfection.
Renee Mouat
Renee initially joined The Kitchen Lady team in an administration capacity, appropriately armed with a business degree. However, whilst leading the design and renovation of her own family home Renee was bitten with the design bug and is currently completing an interior design course and learning the kitchen design ropes. Renee has become integral in the delivery of The Kitchen Lady’s vision.

What

We offer an end to end service.

From consultation, through the design process, manufacturing and installation of your new kitchen, you’ll have just one line of communication – and that’s us.

How

Step 1: Consultation

For new kitchens in an existing home, we will, of course, come to you. We’ll take basic measurements and get a feel for your surroundings and your lifestyle. For new kitchen builds we’re equally happy to meet at your home, however, we will require a copy of your plans. At this meeting, we talk through the space, the function, and ergonomics as well as your wish list, aesthetics, and budget so we can make the first steps towards turning your new kitchen dream into a reality. A consultation usually takes 1 to 2 hours.

Step 2: Design & Quote

Following our consultation we develop the initial kitchen design and potential options, working with you to finesse and finalise. Then, often the most fun bit, is the aesthetics. We meet at our showroom and play with different materials, colours, benchtops, handles etc, so make sure you bring along all your inspiration pics. Along with the design, we provide a highly transparent, itemised quote for everything we do right to the point you’ll be cooking up a storm in your kitchen!

Step 3: Manufacture and Installation

The Kitchen Lady manufactures all cabinetry in our own modern factory in Tauranga with our own passionate and experienced team. It’s the way we can ensure the perfection of finish we demand. You’ll notice the difference!

Our own team deliver the componentry to the site and install it.

Project Supervision

In addition to design, manufacture and installation we are available to liaise with sub – trades and report back to you throughout the process.

Where

Our reach.

We’re strongly focussed on providing the very best possible product and service so have limited the area in which we work. If your home is in Bay of Plenty, Waikato or Wellington, we’d love to help you create your dream kitchen.

Faq

Do you just do kitchens?

Our love of beautiful spaces doesn’t stop at kitchens; we design, manufacture and install cabinetry for bathroom vanities, wardrobes, laundries and more.

What is the process?

We start with a consultation in your home where we discuss the space and the function and ergonomics within as well as your wish list, aesthetics and budget.

We then develop an initial kitchen design and possible options, working with you to finalise.

Our next meeting is at our showroom if you are local, where we play with materials, colours, benchtops and handles etc.

A highly transparent itemised quote for everything we do is also provided.

Once everything is finalised and the space is ready, we visit for a final site measure, from here developing a confirmed kitchen order which when ready is then signed off by you. We then book a production space and work with you or your sub trades on timelines for installation.

Then it’s time for you to enjoy.

Where do you get the cabinetry from?

All our cabinetry is custom made in our factory in Tauranga. Our fully integrated CAD drawing programme enables us to show clients 3D plans of their kitchen and works seamlessly with our computerised CNC machine.

Our skilled manufacturing team has experience in the entire process, from design to manufacture and installation and works to ensure your kitchen is created with the highest quality and care.

What if I don’t live in Tauranga?

We’re strongly focussed on providing the very best possible product and service so have limited the area in which we work. If your home is in Bay of Plenty, Waikato or Wellington, we’d love to help you create your dream kitchen.

What about sub – trades?

If you have your own contacts or subtrades we are more than happy to work with them.

How long does it take?

No job is the same.

A kitchen must not only look good but it needs to be functional as well so we spend a lot of time on the design to ensure the workflows and ergonomics are right for you and your family.

It’s a big investment and shouldn’t be rushed.

Once we have completed the final site measure and you have signed off the confirmed kitchen order we book a production space and confirm timelines.

What are your experience and qualifications?

Renee has been with The Kitchen Lady team in a design capacity for the last 18 months and is currently in her first year of the NKBA Kitchen and Bathroom Design Diploma.
